I hope everyone had a restful 2 weeks now it's back to school and learning. This term our Topic is Kitchen Chemistry where we will be exploring concepts such as melting, dissolving and melting. In Maths we will be finding out about measuring such as weight, volume, and length. Then we will be covering Number like putting numbers in order and finding the number before or after. For PE we will be doing small ball skills, gymnastics, fitness circuits, and cross-country training. In Art, we will be learning to paint.

We have a couple of new students in Room 1 and would like to welcome Lincoln and Vai who joined us towards the end of Term 1. Now Vai and Fuia have joined Room 1 this term. I hope that they are enjoying getting to know Leabank School and Room 1.

Duffy Show

Yesterday we enjoyed watching the Duffy Show. They told us about bullying and that it's not nice to be mean. We learnt to stand up to bullies and to tell people if someone is bullying you!

Tidy kiwis

Today the rubbish truck empied the bin but the wind blew lots of rubbish around, so we were tidy kiwis and picked up the rubbish!

Ordering numbers to 20

Today we had to put numbers in order from 0 to 20. Some of us worked very quickly and did this well (JJ, Mereana, William, Izzu to name the first few).

Welcome back to 2018

I hope everyone had a relaxing holiday and have made the most of the brilliant summer weather that we have had. 2018 has come around fast and it's back to another year in Room 1. It has been neat seeing all the smiling faces of my new and past students. The first week has been a settling in time and getting to learn the routines and how things are done in Room 1. I have noticed a couple of students seem tired so it is important to get to bed early so that you are bright and alert for a good days learning. Please remember your togs and towel all named and in a swim bag (or plastic bag). Room 1 has swimming on a Monday, Tuesday and a Wednesday.
